What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a component of cannabis in its own right and is relatively unknown to the general public. However, it is a crucial component in the therapeutic use of cannabis. The properties of cannabidiol are therefore not the same as those of cannabis in the form we know it. In any case, many e-liquid and vaporizer distributors offer CBD. What is it? Let’s talk about it in detail.

What is Cannabidiol?

CBD is a cannabinoid found in the hemp or cannabis plant. It is of great interest to scientists and is the second most studied cannabinoid after THC, which is the main active substance in cannabis. It is the one that causes the psychoactive effects of the plant. THC is therefore responsible for the euphoria and intoxication caused by cannabis, which is not the case with Cannabidiol.

Cannabis in its known form contains only a tiny amount of cannabidiol. However, new cannabis strains with higher CBD levels are being developed. The THC content is therefore being reduced to less than 1% compared to over 20% CBD.

In any case, the laws governing the production and consumption of this type of component are very strict in France. Thus, CBD from Docteur Vapo or other distributors complies with what is authorized in Europe. It is generally available in the form of crystals, e-liquid, or even herbal tea.

Focus on the medical properties of Cannabidiol

Particular interest in the therapeutic properties of CBD is legitimate because its use is primarily medical. According to the journal Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, this cannabinoid primarily has anti-inflammatory properties. CBD-based products relieve all kinds of pain, whether chronic or not. This active ingredient also acts on pain resulting from illness, particularly polyarthritis.

On the other hand, the medical use of CBD concerns many cases of stress, depression, and anxiety. It is a very effective relaxant. Turning to such a product is sometimes more advisable to avoid the side effects of equivalent medications. Indeed, CBD acts in almost the same way as anxiolytics and antidepressants taken daily by a significant portion of the population.

These are only a tiny fraction of the medical properties of Cannabidiol. And since so many scientists are interested in it, new properties are regularly revealed. Moreover, some studies have already highlighted the interesting properties of CBD on certain serious illnesses:

  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Epilepsy
  • Some forms of cancer
  • Crohn’s disease and other inflammatory bowel diseases
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Etc.

Lately, many people have been wondering about the possible beauty properties of CBD. CBD actually has unexpected skin benefits, according to a 2014 publication in the Journal of Clinical Investigation. Cannabidiol acts on sebocytes, the glands responsible for the appearance of acne pimples. If you’re fed up with your acne, don’t hesitate to swap your usual products for CBD. You might finally have a solution that works!

CBD therefore, has numerous therapeutic properties, but it’s worth noting that compared to CBD, THC appears to provide better pain relief. However, since its use is highly regulated or even prohibited in many countries, doctors recommend a combination of both in certain serious cases.
